Price and overview

The Govee Uplighter is a smart floor lamp with a rotating head that projects colored light patterns onto walls and ceilings. It combines ambient lighting, task lighting, and customizable ripple effects, and works with major voice assistants and smart home platforms.
What it does
- Three lighting zones. You can control the upper ambient ripples, middle RGBIC light, and lower task light independently, or mix them together depending on what you're doing.
- Ripple projection. The lamp head rotates 330 degrees and casts water-ripple light effects across walls, with over 80 pre-set scenes to choose from.
- Color temperature control. The lamp shifts from warm light (2,700K) to cool light (6,500K), and can run on a schedule to match times of day.
- Music and scenes. It syncs to music for reactive lighting, and supports custom light shows through the app.
- Smart home integration. Works with Alexa, Google Assistant, SmartThings, Matter, and the Govee Home app.
- AI-assisted control. The manufacturer includes an AI lighting bot that can create custom effects based on voice, text, or photos you provide.
Good to know before you buy
- App requirement. The upper and lower lighting zones need app version 7.0.1 or later and a firmware update to work together.
- WiFi setup. Your router must support 2.4GHz connections to use smart features.
- Not listed. The listing does not specify brightness levels, exact dimensions, or whether a remote control is included.
Who it suits
This lamp works best for people who want flexible, programmable lighting for living rooms or bedrooms and are comfortable using a smartphone app and smart home systems. The ripple projection effect suits rooms with high ceilings or large wall space to display them. It's less suited to anyone who prefers simple, plug-and-play lighting without app setup, or who doesn't have a 2.4GHz WiFi network.
