What it does

  • Sleep tracking. Records REM, deep, light, and awake time, plus sleep need, debt, consistency, and efficiency.
  • Heart rate and stress monitoring. Tracks live heart rate, resting heart rate, heart rate variability, respiratory rate, blood oxygen, and skin temperature against your personal baseline.
  • Recovery insights. Connects sleep and training data to show how your habits affect recovery and provides personalized recommendations.
  • Menstrual cycle tracking. Logs cycle phases and symptoms to show how hormones affect sleep, recovery, and training performance.
  • Health metrics. The app analyzes 140+ health and fitness metrics through an AI coach and tracks 160+ daily behaviors via a journal to show habit impacts.
  • Healthspan calculation. Estimates your biological age and pace of aging based on nine key health metrics.

Power and warranty

The device runs for 14 or more days on a single charge. It comes with a waterproof wireless charging pack rated IP68 (water-resistant to 10 meters for 2 hours), which lets you charge the tracker while wearing it.

Good to know before you buy

  • Membership required. You are purchasing a 12-month membership subscription; the device is included with it, not sold separately.
  • No screen. The tracker has no display; all data and coaching appear in the mobile app only.
  • App-dependent. Full use requires a smartphone and the WHOOP app to view metrics and receive AI coaching.
  • HSA/FSA eligible. The membership and battery pack can be reimbursed through HSA or FSA accounts with a receipt.

In the box

You receive the WHOOP 5.0 device, one SuperKnit band, and a waterproof wireless PowerPack for charging.

Who it suits

This tracker works well for people serious about monitoring sleep, recovery, and training habits, especially athletes and those interested in long-term health trends. It pairs with apps like Apple Health, Strava, and Natural Cycles for broader data tracking. It is probably not for casual users who want a simple step counter or those who prefer a device with a built-in screen.
