Price and overview
$249.99
The Ring Wired Doorbell 4K Pro is a hardwired video doorbell that captures footage in 4K resolution. It lets you see, hear, and speak to visitors in real time from your phone, with motion detection and low-light viewing built in.
What it does
- 4K video. Records and streams video in 4K resolution for detailed footage of your doorway and surrounding area.
- 10x zoom. You can zoom in on details at a distance through the app.
- Two-way audio. Speak to and hear visitors in real time without opening the door.
- Motion detection. Uses 3D Motion Detection to pinpoint motion on your property, which the manufacturer says reduces false alerts.
- Low-light viewing. Captures true color video in dim lighting; switches to black-and-white in complete darkness.
- Video descriptions. Sends notifications that describe what's happening when motion is detected (requires a Ring subscription and is not available in Illinois).
Power and warranty
This model is hardwired directly to your home's existing doorbell wiring, so it runs continuously without a battery. Installation is designed as a DIY project.
Good to know before you buy
- Hardwired installation. You'll need to connect it to your existing doorbell wiring, which requires some electrical work.
- Subscription required. Video descriptions and some other features require a separate Ring subscription plan.
- Not available in Illinois. The video descriptions feature is not supported in Illinois due to state law.

Who it suits
This doorbell works well if you have an existing wired doorbell setup and want to upgrade to 4K video with smart features. It's less suitable if you rent, have no existing doorbell wiring, or prefer battery-powered devices that don't require hardwiring. The $249.99 price point puts it in the premium category, so it's best for people who want high-resolution video and don't mind paying for a Ring subscription.
